My Story

I’m Jody Pittner, Owner and Creative Mind behind Silver Like the Moon. I created this company out of my lifetime passion for creativity, art, and beautiful home design.

For decades, friends and family members have asked for my opinions and advice when designing their homes. Whether it was picking the right color palette for their latest renovation, creating a functional and beautiful office, or taking me shopping to help them find just the right pieces of furniture, I have helped many people create spaces that feel good and function well. Even when I owned my private practice as a mental health clinician, clients often told me how my office made them immediately feel calm and peaceful (which is exactly what I intended them to experience).

Silver Like the Moon is all about me prioritizing my love for art and design and making it the primary focus in the second half of my life. My textiles, wallpaper, art prints, and curated boards are meant to help you tell your story and create spaces and experiences that make you feel connected, joyful, and warm.

If watching HGTV could count towards a degree or certification, I’d definitely have one! Aside from the deep understanding I have about how our home environments affect our mental health and overall sense of well being, I have been an artist for over 30 years.

In addition to my background as an artist, I have studied color, e-Design, surface pattern design, home staging, home organization, and have achieved the following certifications:

All homes tell a story and every story can be edited or rewritten.

Still with me?

Good. Now you get to hear the story about the overalls shown in most pictures you’ll see of me here (I swear, I do wear other things). These overalls have been a part of almost every piece of art I’ve every created, every home improvement project, and they are even featured in a time lapse video of me painting the mural in the Guestroom Project featured above. I wore them while 9 months pregnant, with both kids, when I did their nurseries! These overalls are vintage 1992. They are special and I will continue to repair them to see how many more years I can get out them!

Looking for support? I offer individual coaching, workshops, retreats, and courses to inspire your creativity. I work exclusively with women moving through the midlife transition.
